Oh shit, it’s less than a week until Neutral Milk Hotel

Perhaps it’s because I’m focused on Primavera and it’s associated anxieties due to flying but the fact I’m seeing Neutral Milk Hotel (or Jeff Mangum in any form for that matter) for the first time on Monday has really crept up on me. It’s left me slightly panicking to listen to as much of their other stuff as possible before the gig through worry that there’ll be a bunch of tracks I don’t know too well putting a damper on what should be a very special gig for me. I guess the reason I haven’t paid much attention to Ferris Wheel On Fire and Everything Is is that I’m worried they won’t live up to the albums. I guess it’s about time to stop idolizing them over On Avery Island and In The Aeroplane Over The Sea and start treating them like any other gigging band.
